Tara works from a feminist and social justice framework to hold clients up as the expert in their own experience and to acknowledge the relevance
of social, environmental, and generational context. Tara works with girls and women affected by trauma, domestic violence, emotional, physical, sexual and spiritual abuse as well as body image and disordered eating. She is a culturally/racially sensitive therapist, LGBTQIA friendly, and she practices from a non-judgmental, authentic and open-minded perspective.

Tara earned her undergraduate degree in Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies form the University of Minnesota and her masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University. She is trained in trauma-focused modalities including EMDR and Brainspotting. Prior to her career as a therapist, Tara worked as a community based sexual assault advocate working closely with victim/survivors throughout the process of healing. She is also interested in working with youth on education around medically accurate, consent based sexual education. Tara is passionate about walking with women through the journey of dismantling patriarchy and questioning beliefs that continue to make us feel we need to conform with the status quo and stay quiet.
