Mel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Minnesota. She enjoys working with couples, families, and individuals from age five to adulthood. Mel believes in building an authentic relationship with each client as one of the first steps in moving towards peace, hope, and healing.
She takes a systemic and strength-based approach with each individual, family, or couple. Mel values celebrating all clients and their unique qualities while utilizing these strengths to empower positive change. She enjoys exploring the connections each client has to others and the world around them as a way to create understanding and healing.
Mel received her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University Twin Cities, and has experience in a variety of mental-health settings including school-based, in-home, outpatient, and MICD programs. She has spent much of her career working with clients facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, anger, identity, and co-occurring chemical dependency/mental illness. She has specific interest in working with couples and families managing relational impairment or intimacy issues. Mel enjoys working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, and strives to engage in culturally responsive and affirming therapy.
