Alyssa Gilbertson

Alyssa takes a philosophical approach to therapy, encouraging clients to explore their values and purpose through curiosity rather than judgment. Using a humanistic and relational approach, Alyssa aims to meet clients where they are. She incorporates various therapeutic techniques including DBT skills, ACT, CBT, and mindfulness-based interventions tailored to each client's needs. Alyssa specializes in grief therapy, childhood/relational trauma, and ADHD. She currently works with individual adults and is open to brief consultations for potential clients.

Alyssa received her Master of Social Work at the University of Minnesota and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Her experience spans different settings, including residential substance use treatment centers for adolescents and young adults, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, community health care clinics, and outpatient mental health clinics. She transitioned from larger agencies to provide more client-focused care and eliminate barriers to accessing services.

Outside of work, Alyssa spends time with her cat, Kiwi, and enjoys nature documentaries, hiking, kayaking, and connecting with her social network.
